Payment Policy

All On-Line bookings will be charged 10% non-refundable deposit at the time of making your booking and be processed within 24hrs. All On-Line bookings can be charged full amount of the bookings on the day of arrival . Please note the booking will only be confirmed once you receive an email with your booking number and details of your stay and your credit card details have been received or a 10% deposit has been made.
At check-in, you can pay by Cash, Eftpos and Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard).
Please make sure to give us your correct email address to send you a confirmation or suggest alternatives if the room requested is not available.
Any extension to a booking is subject to availability of units. Earlier departure than the reserved date may not result in refund unless the management approve.
Criterion Art Deco Backpackers is not responsible for any changes or discrepancies in booking details not reflected in the booking confirmation. Though not guaranteed, we will make every reasonable effort to accommodate new booking requirements not reflected in the booking confirmation.

Refund Policy
Queries should in the first instance be directed to the hostel, by phone at + 64 06 835 2059 or by email at backpack@criterionartdeco.co.nz.
All refunds will be made at the Management's discretion.
Charges made for non-arrivals, or in the event of cancellation of pre paid accommodation or package may be refunded at the management's discretion less the 10% non-refundable deposit.
Queries regarding credit card transactions should in the first instance be made directly to the hostel.
Credit card refunds will be made directly to the credit card that was charged during the original transaction once approved. Should a satisfactory resolution not be reached you are advised to lodge a query with the issuing bank or credit card company.
All refunds will be made in New Zealand Dollars. Refunds in New Zealand dollars to cards issued outside New Zealand may be affected by currency exchange fluctuations. Where these fluctuations result in the refund being less than the original transaction amount, an appeal should be lodged with the hostel.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy
We have a 48 hours cancellation policy – prior to the time of check in.
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before 02.00 pm on the expected day of arrival, avoid a cancellation fee.
Cancellations notified less than 48 hours prior to 02.00 pm on the expected date of arrival will incur a cancellation fee of one days accommodation.
No refunds for late arrivals or early check-outs.
In the event of a "no-show", Criterion Art Deco Backpackers has the right to charge your credit card for the Full stay and if you have not arrived by 02.00 pm the following day your booking will be cancelled.
Cancellation of Group/Team bookings must be notified no later than 1 week prior to the expected date of arrival. Cancellations made within 1 week of arrival will result in your group being charged for the full stay. Group “no show” will also be charged in full back to the group.

Child Policy
Families are welcome, we do require that anyone under the age of 18 has a guardian.
