Dairy Flat Farm Daylesford
The 38-acre regenerative farm, set amid rolling hills in the hamlet of Musk, seven kilometres from Daylesford, features an extensive and productive vegetable garden, a vineyard, established olive grove and an orchard of 350 heritage fruit trees. The European-style Lodge, complete with a cellar has been exquisitely decorated with custom-made furniture and offers luxurious accommodation for up to 12 guests.
The acquisition and transformation of Dairy Flat into a productive farm is a case of Culinary Director Alla Wolf-Tasker AM practicing what she has preached for decades. “Having our own productive farm has been a long-held dream for me and the team at Lake House. It means that the vast majority of produce we serve now comes entirely from the local area. It’s also the next step for us and the Lake House family to close the loop on the immersive food-focused experience for all our guests”.
Dairy Flat Farm currently supplements what existing suppliers are unable to provide to Lake House, as well as allowing Alla, the Lake House chefs, and the Farm’s gardeners to experiment with growing rare and interesting vegetables, fruit, and herbs.
One of Dairy Flat Farm’s most exciting features is the bake house that has been created within an existing semi-underground cellar space accessed via a tunnel beneath the Lodge, and which is operated in collaboration with Michael James, formerly of Melbourne’s renowned Tivoli Road Bakery.
All baking for the iconic Lake House restaurant now comes from Dairy Flat. Retail sales are available through Wombat Hill House – the Wolf-Tasker’s café nestled in the Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens, Daylesford. Regular sourdough baking classes will be conducted on-site for Lodge guests and as an extension of the Lake House Cooking School program.
Dairy Flat Lodge is an ideal destination for guests who are keen to embrace life on a productive farm, but who still want hotel-style comforts and a good cocktail at the end of the day. A live-in concierge will organise every aspect of the guests’ stay.
The interior design focuses on craftsmanship and artisanal production with custom-made furniture, cabinetry, and upholstery, and original artworks by Allan Wolf-Tasker, botanical paintings by Alesandro Ljubicic, sculpture by bronze worker Anthony Vanderzweep and woodwork from craftsman Greg Stirling.
Lodge guests will be able to partake in a farm tour or book into scheduled workshops on gardening, baking, beekeeping & more.

Payment Policy
To secure all reservations, a 10% non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking. The balance of the package is required to be paid 30 days prior to arrival and will be charged to the same card used to secure the booking by the Reservation Team.
Payment by Credit Card will incur a transaction fee: Visa & MasterCard will attract a 1.75% surcharge; Amex & Diners Club will attract a 2.95%.
Cancellation Policy
Dairy Flat Farm Daylesford relies on reservations being honoured by our guests, or adequate notice given of any changes. Cancellations within the month leading up to travel affect us greatly and leave little opportunity to replace lost or cancelled bookings. As such, we have a strict deposit and cancellation policy.
In the event of cancellation more than 30 days prior to arrival, a 10% non-refundable administration fee will be retained. Any credit card surcharges are also retained.
In the event of cancellation within 30 days of arrival, 100% of payment is retained as a cancellation fee. No refund applies.
Impossibility Clause: In the event that services are impossible to fulfill due to natural disaster, state of emergency, pandemic, or similar – the amount paid will act as a credit towards future stays. No refunds will be issued.
We strongly advise guests to take out travel insurance to protect you against unexpected changes to your travel plans.
