Huntington Stables Retreat offers 4 rooms in a beautiful semi-rural setting. We're located 5 mins drive from the centre of Cambridge and its excellent selection of boutiques, eateries, galleries, and sports facilities. Our amenities include a large swimming pool, hot tub, steam sauna, petanque lawn, outdoor yoga areas, giftshop, and a meeting/activity room! This adults only retreat-style Bed and Breakfast makes an ideal choice for a mid-week/weekend stay, or relaxing holiday. Our rooms and amenities provide a comfortable and practical 'home base' for couples or small groups to explore the Waikato and beyond, as a romantic setting for a honeymoon or wedding night, or as a wonderful option for a friends' weekend, bridal preparation, time-out-getaway, or special 'retreat'. An easy 30 minute drive to Hobbiton Movie Set, makes this a convenient 'stop-over' for those attending day tours and evening banquets, or those visiting Lake Karapiro, Mystery Creek, Avantidrome or St Peter's School. Stay at Huntington Stables Retreat, and play in New Zealand's most beautiful town!
BEFORE BOOKING and to avoid misunderstanding: 1. please check the details of each room to ensure you book the room that best suits your needs. 2. The rooms, property and amenities are for adults only (16 yrs and older). 3. For security, privacy, and health/well-being, NO VISITORS during your stay unless by prior arrangement with owners. 4. A valid credit card must be produced BEFORE arrival and all heavily soiled, damage and loss must be paid for. 5. All amenities are for BOOKED GUESTS only. 6. NO SMOKING/VAPING anywhere on the property. 7. In some cases we may be able to accommodate a small dog in one of the lodges, and only upon discussion BEFORE booking, acceptance of restrictions, and if booking directly with us.

Rate includes provisions for STANDARD CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST (sorry but we are UNABLE to cater for GF, celeiac, dairy-free, vegetarian, diabetic, vegan, or other allergies, diets, or intolerances). A Super-King bed in a spacious, extremely comfortable lodge with its own private deck. Rollaway beds available upon request. Bedroom and lounge open onto the private deck, with stunning views over the surrounding farmland, bush and hills beyond. Relax in the living area with a glass of wine, or a book or magazine from the small 'swap a book' library. Enjoy Freeview channels and an extensive range of DVDs on the HD flat screen TV, or listen to music on the Blue Tooth CD player. The North Stable is equipped with a heat pump for those chilly winter nights. The bathroom is decorated with Italian tiles, features a cast-iron slipper bath, grand basin and large walk-in shower. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering: full oven, microwave, butlers sink, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, and Panini/sandwich press. A slow cooker and blender are available upon request. A hair dryer, iron, ironing board, and lockable safe are provided for use. Wine, beer and softdrinks are available for purchase. There is NO SMOKING/VAPING ALLOWED anywhere on the property. If cigarette smoke is detected during your stay, a commercial cleaning/relocation fee will be extracted from the credit card supplied, or sought through an appropriate agency. Note, we do our best to avoid waste (power, water, food, rubbish) and encourage all guests to respect our mission to respect and protect our environment. The Loft is a stylish upstairs studio with an open-plan lounge, dining area, kitchenette, Queen bed and separate bathroom. A small balcony provides an area for enjoying the beautiful views. Booked guests have use of the swimming pool, steam sauna, spa pool, cabana, lounging areas, outdoor yoga spaces, petanque/boules, and a small gift shop. Complimentary provisions for STANDARD continental breakfast are included (we are unable to cater for GF, celeiac, diabetes, vegan, dairy-free or other allergies or intolerances). This studio has sloped ceilings in part, is up a set of stairs and has a balcony. Full payment for any room will be extracted within the cancellation period. For the safety, welfare and well-being of all our guests, we have a NO VISITOR policy for all rooms and on the property. No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property. Note, we do our best to avoid waste (power, water, food, plastic and rubbish) and encourage guests to help with our mission to respect and protect our environment. Currently, there is a 2 night minimum in this room. We may be able to accommodate a small dog but only upon application (appropriate restrictions apply).

This basic guestroom sleeps up to 2 people sharing the Queen bed, and is attached to the main house with its own entrance. There is no access to the main house. It has a small, private ensuite bathroom, small fridge, tea and coffee making facilities. Complimentary provisions for light continental breakfast are included (no toast or toaster). A tray with toast and jams can be brought to your room (extra charge). Please note we are unable to cater for GF, dairy free, vegan or other allergies/intolerances. As a basic guestroom there is no kitchenette, living area or dining room. There is a small table with 2 chairs on the covered patio outside the room. This guestroom is ideal for booking with the North or South Stable, or The Loft, when needing a room for older teenagers, grandparents or extra guests. There are NO COOKING facilities in this room, however there is a small fridge and a microwave for heating food. The Stall is intended for those simply needing a bed and shower for the evening. We absolutely CANNOT accommodate extra guests or pets in this room. BOOKED GUESTS have use of the pool, spa and sauna (some restrictions apply). NO SMOKING/VAPING anywhere on the property. Please understand that by choosing to stay at Huntington Stables Retreat, you agree to respect our regulations, policies, and sustainability efforts.
1. As retreat-style accommodaton and for the safety, privacy, and well-being of all our guests, NO VISITORS unless by prior arrangement with owners BEFORE booking a room. 2. Our amenities are for BOOKED GUESTS only. 3. The rooms and amenities are for ADULTS only. 4. No glass outside your room thanks, and absolutely not in or near the pool, spa or sauna (please use the polycarbonate cups from your room). 5. Our 'no smoking/vaping' policy applies to entire property. 6. Any damage, breakage or loss associated with your stay must be paid for. 7. DRIVE SLOWLY on the property at all times. 8. In accordance with our 'Environmental Responsibility' Policy, we DO NOT change linen daily. We encourage you to re-use your linen and to conserve water and power. We have excellent filtered water (you do not need to bring plasic bottled water). 9. In most cases we are NOT able to offer early check-ins or late check-outs. Check-in is 2pm onwards and check-out is no later than 10am. 10. Breakfast provisions are complimentary and are STANDARD continental (we are NOT able to provide or cater for gluten free, sugar free, vegan, dairy-free, or other allergies, intolerances or diets). We do not provide a toaster or bread in the Stall (guestroom). We truly appreciate your cooperation.

Payments are extracted within the cancellation period. If you are paying via internet, you will still need to supply a valid credit card with your booking. Please let us know if you intend to pay via internet transfer so we don't charge the credit card as well. Note: rates and charges are inclusive of GST.

Cancellation Policy

NORTH STABLE or SOUTH STABLE: cancellation within 8 days, 100% of total booking price withheld.
THE LOFT: cancellation within 8 days, 100% of total booking price withheld.
THE STALL: cancellation within 5 days, 100% of total booking price withheld.
No Shows for any room - 100% of total booking price will be charged/withheld.
During public holidays or major events in the area (e.g. Field Days), cancellation within 21 days for all rooms, 100% of total booking price withheld.
If booking 3 or more rooms at one time, cancellation within 21 days, 100% for total booking price withheld or charged.
We are a small operator so cancellations affect us significantly. Our Cancellation Policy is rigidly applied.
