Lochinver Homestead and Cottages is a beautiful heritage country property in the heart of Victoria’s Goldfields region. It is a hidden treasure for short escapes, leisurely holidays, retreats and celebrations. There are three accommodation options including the Homestead, Blue Wren Cottage and Creek Cottage. These charming residences are all self-contained and can be booked separately or all together, catering for up to 22 guests. Lochinver Homestead and Cottages has been in the Williamson family for four generations since 1890 and has been hosting guests for over 30 years. Just 2 hours from Melbourne, it is an easy escape from the City. Activities can be as simple as watching the world go by, observing the rhythms of modern farm life, taking long walks along the river within the farm park looking for platypus and bird life. There is also a myriad of cafes, wineries, galleries and the Goldfields Vintage Train that await you.

The heartbeat of Lochinver is the original Bluestone Homestead, founded in the 1860s and growing over the years. Guests get all of this six-bedroom gem to themselves and whether you come as a couple, family or a group and stay for a week, a weekend or a celebration, you won't forget the experience quickly. The Homestead boasts a sunny brick terrace, a shady veranda, a huge country kitchen and formal reception rooms. The Homestead has six bedrooms and can accommodate up to 12 or more guests

Blue Wren Cottage is a quintessential Australian farmhouse, originally a C1860s Miners Cottage. Blue Wren is ideal for a couple, groups of friends or a family with pets. The breezeway veranda offers a relaxed area with a secluded terrace that allows you to enjoy drinks, or reading and watching the birds.: This beautifully restored cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps up to 6 guests. It features stylish period furnishings, art and treasures from the family collections.

Creek Cottage is set in the Homestead's rambling gardens. Creek Cottage is perfect for individuals, couples or a small family and has stunning views of the ancient red gums and Tullaroop Creek.

All the residences were originally for the people and their families working on the farm and have been restored and renovated with modern conveniences. Lochinver is also pet friendly, with guests welcome to bring their dogs by prior arrangement.

Terms & Conditions

1. Covid 19 Awareness. If you are unwell please do not attend, if you are showing any Covid-19 symptoms please get tested and do not attend your booking while awaiting results. Please maintain appropriate hygiene and social distancing during your stay. All bookings will be subject to current Covid-19 restrictions as per the Victorian Governments mandates.
The number of guests staying must not exceed the number agreed to in the booking details. In the event that any additional persons stay at the property, an additional fee may be charged according to our usual rates and/or we reserve the right to terminate the booking without a refund.
2. Day visitors are allowed by prior arrangement and a visiting day charge may apply. Due to Covid- 19 contact details of all day guests are required for contact tracing purposes.
3. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement only, a service charge will apply to each pet.
4. Plans for parties, functions, group reunions and gatherings require prior arrangement, otherwise strictly prohibited.
5. We reserve the right to terminate the booking without refund if these terms are not respected.

Payment Policy

1. A deposit of 50% is required to confirm your booking. This includes a $50 non- refundable deposit.
2. The final payment is required 14 days beforehand.
3. Once you have booked, your deposit/payment will be processed within 2 working days.
4. Payment is required via major credit cards or a bank transfer to our Bendigo Bank Account - Lochinver BSB No. 633-000, Account No.109624155. Description: Full Name of the person who made the booking.
(Large groups - Please note individual names not required, Description to only have name of person booking is under.)

Cancellation Policy

For bookings cancelled for whatever reason, the following applies:
1. 50% refund up until 14 days prior to arrival less the non- refundable administration fee of $50.00
2. Early departure – no refund of payment.
3. Consideration is given to unforeseen events.
4. Lochinver Farm may at any time cancel your booking, if in our sole discretion there are reasons which require us to do so. If this happens we will give you a full refund of all monies that you may have paid and we will have no further liability to you.
