Terms & Conditions

Student Accommodation
* Hospitality Services staff will clean rooms on a weekly basis, if staying longer than a week a slip will
be placed under your door to inform you when your room will be cleaned.
* If required accommodation services will provide information to Accounts Receivable and the Agency
or Registered Training Organisation (RTO) is invoiced accordingly.
* All rooms are for single occupancy only, no partners or guests are allowed
* Check in time is 2pm, check out is strictly 10am
* Key cards are to be returned in the letter box in the air lock. A $20 replacement fee for misplaced,
lost or unreturned cards will be charged to the credit/debit card used to book the accommodation.
Non Students (relatives, outpatients, locums)
* Bookings can be made through MDHS accommodation services
MDHSAccommodation@mdhs.vic.gov.au. This email address is monitored between 7am – 3.30pm
weekdays.
* Room allocation and entry is always at the discretion of MDHS
* Check out is no later than 10.00am. At checkout the guest will return the keys to the key safe lock If
the keys are not returned, a $100 fine will also be charged to the room occupier.
Security, Safety and Emergency
To optimise the safety of guests, their property, staff and the facility, MDHS will ensure there is a process in
place and that guests are informed of what to do in the event of an emergency.
* Access to accommodation is by guest allocated keys only and external doors are to be kept locked at
all times. If necessary, the police will be used to evict guests or visitors who have been identified as
a disturbance, risk or nuisance.
* A list will be held by the MDHS Chief Executive Officer of people who are no longer deemed
acceptable to stay at MDHS accommodation.
Student Accommodation
* Guests will require a mobile phone to contact MDHS or to contact others and in the case of
Emergency to dial 000. There is wireless Wi-Fi for internet connection provided
Manse
* A telephone is located in the study to receive incoming calls, make local landline calls or Emergency
calls to triple zero - 000. Must dial zero for an outside telephone line followed by triple zero MDHS
COIL can be contacted during business hours (extension 10368).
* There is wireless Wi-Fi for internet connection provided.
Guests Needing to Report Disturbances
* During Business Hours please phone MDHS Reception 5461 0333
* After hours guests can ring the After Hours Coordinator; on 5461 0373
* In the case of an emergency at The Manse and student accommodation, guests will be informed by
the Chief Fire Warden to evacuate.
Medical Emergency
Nursing staff from the hospital are unable to attend medical emergencies at MDHS accommodation facilities.
In the event of a medical emergency, guests at The Manse must dial zero for an outside telephone line
followed by triple zero and request an ambulance. Guests must remember that if they are not covered by
ambulance subscriptions, you will be liable for the costs.
No Smoking Policy
In line with MDHS policy, smoking and vaping is prohibited within accommodation facilities and on hospital
grounds.
Animals
No animals or pets of any description are allowed at any MDHS accommodation facility.
Guests’ Rights and Obligations
Rights
* To have access to a quiet, secure, private environment in a clean, facility in good repair with
appliances in working order.
* To be confident that all issues with regards to occupational health and safety have been complied
with.
Obligations
* NO Alcohol/Drugs. No employee, agency staff or student is to bring alcohol or drugs within the
precincts of the Health Service. No employee or student is to report for duty while under the influence
of alcohol, drugs or any other substance.
* Not to smoke within MDHS property.
* No cooking in rooms.
* No guests
* To respect the privacy of other guests.
* Not to interfere with the comfort of other guests.
* Not to damage or remove any property or items from accommodation facility or those that belong to
other guests.
* To ensure individual bedrooms and bathrooms are kept clean
* Along with other guests, to help in ensuring that the whole house is kept clean and tidy and that the
dishes are washed daily.
* To report any damages or issues with building or contents as soon as possible.
* To pay for all damages.
* To park in allocated car-parking areas only.
* To ensure they check out no later than 10.00am
* In the event of a key being lost or not returned, $100 will be charged for replacement.
* In the event of a swipe card being lost or not returned, $20 will be charged for replacement
* In the event that you become unwell with an infectious disease such as the flu, COVID, gastro etc. You must notify your line manager and MDHS accommodation and vacate your room immediately.
