JJ’s Backpackers Northbridge aim to provide a clean and safe environment whilst creating a meeting place for like-minded travellers in a fun and chilled atmosphere.
Our love of travel and variety of experiences help to create a place where you can make new friends and feel comfortable for however long you stay with us.
We are in the heart of Northbridge, Perth's main entertainment district with its uncountable bars, pubs and clubs. Within walking distance you can find a never-ending choice of delicious food in all price ranges.
Based right inside the Perth Free Transit Zone, you can catch the Blue CAT on our front door. We are only a 10 minute walk to Perth railway station and busport. We are on the doorstep of Perth's CBD where you can find endless shops and malls and a stone’s throw from central attractions such as Elizabeth Quay and King's Park Botanical Garden.
We offer reasonable sized rooms all with bunk beds. We provide bed linen. Towels are available on request. All rooms have air conditioning. We have a large kitchen with walk in fridge and a mid-sized freezer. Washing machines and dryers are available.
In addition to this we also offer: a simple free breakfast of toast with spreads, cereals, tea and coffee every day of the week. Free unlimited wifi, free playstation, free pool table, free Netflix. Saturday night is always free pizza night. We have free drinks vouchers for several of the best bars and clubs in town.
At JJ’s we like variety, check out our blackboard at reception for different social events.
If you have any questions or suggestions while you are staying with us, please come and find any of our friendly team. We love hearing new ideas and including our guests with as much as possible in backpacker life, it’s because of this that most of the photos on our website were taken by our current guests! With your help we can make JJ’s the best backpackers in Perth!

How to get here. If arriving from the airport there are several transport options. For public transport check out the Transperth website. This provides information on all of the Perth public transport options and includes a journey planner to help you. Taxi or rideshare options will usually cost between $30-$50. There is also a private shuttle bus option which can be booked online.

Guest agreement/JJ’s terms and conditions.
Cancellation policy. Free cancellation if cancelled 24 hours prior to check in. Failure to cancel within this time will result in a charge equal to the first night of your stay.
Reception is open from 9am-10pm.
Check out time is 10am. For check out outside of reception hours ask our friendly reception staff for information on this process. We ask that you place your bed linen in the laundry bags provided, empty your food box and place on the sink.
Check in time is from 3pm. For check in outside of reception times please contact us at least 2 days in advance of your arrival for us to give you late check in information. You will need to provide a passport on arrival. If you do not have a valid passport, we may not be able to complete your check in.
We accept payment by card or cash. A $10 room key deposit is requested at time of check in. We cannot accept ID as a deposit.
Each bed has an allocated locker. We do not provide padlocks for these. Please make use of these to keep your valuables safe as we cannot accept responsibility for any lost or stolen property.
If you would like to move to a different bed you must ask someone at reception first. If you move without asking you will be charged for two beds.
We are a non-smoking hostel. There is a designated smoking are to the rear of the building only. We will not tolerate smoking by our guests inside or at the front of the building. If you continue to do this when asked not to you will be asked to leave the property with no refund.
We do not tolerate drug use. If you are caught using drugs or appear to be under the influence of drugs you will be asked to leave immediately.
We allow you to bring in your own alcohol, but any aggressive or anti-social behaviour related to this will also lead to you being asked to leave immediately.
If you have a sleeping bag, we ask that you do not use this while staying at JJ’s.
Common areas close at 11pm. After this time, we ask that you keep noise at a reasonable level in consideration of other guests.
