Situated at the summit of Mount Dandenong, Observatory Cottages is one of the Original Bed and Breakfast Establishments of the Dandenong Ranges. For a Romantic getaway or just an escape in Luxury Accommodation Observatory Cottages is the ideal Cottage Accommodation you need.
Only 45 minutes from the city of Melbourne we have four spacious yet cozy cottages to choose from. Each cottage has its own unique character. Owls Croft, Windsong, Ironbark and Candlewick, are names remembered by the many guests that have come our way repeatedly over the many years. With stunning views of Port Phillip Bay and the surrounding Suburbs, at Observatory Cottages you feel as though you can touch the stars. “It looked like someone had dumped a truckload of gemstones, rubies, sapphires, diamonds and topaz, in random patterns on to a vast black tablecloth.” It is truly an amazing sight.

With the feel of yesteryear Ironbark Cottage is where romance begins. Set in timber Ironbark Cottage boasts its own yard and a balcony that over looks Port Phillip Bay and the surrounding suburbs.
Sit back on the deck or soak up in the double spa and watch the sun go down, or just sit by the log fire with your loved one. Ironbark Cottage is truly the home of romance. This cottage is beautifully detailed its spacious inside and out, enjoy sleeping on the 1880’s antique Half Tester bed with lace bedding and furnishings. The cottage is set in rich reds & wood paneling with cathedral ceilings.

Laze around in robes & enjoy the four poster canopy bed watching the morning dew come in. Have a soak in the double spa bath overlooking the views & the gardens with your loved one. Payment Policy
- The total room rate deposit is required to confirm you reservation.
- Bookings are transferable to an alternate date (subject to availability) providing notice of cancellation is received at least 14 days prior to scheduled arrival.
Cancellation Policy
- A reservation can be cancelled free of charge if the cancellation occurs more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the booking. Deposit will be refunded within 14 days after cancellation.
- All cancellations received 14 days prior to arrival, will forfeit the amount that has been paid.
- All cancellations received 7 days or less prior to arrival will be charged the full amount of their booking.
