Ruapehu Lodge is a unique accommodation experience situated in one of New Zealand's most scenic locations, the wonderful Tongariro National Park in the central North Island.
Terms & Conditions
Please Note: The Terms & Conditions of occupancy must be agreed upon or the booking request will not be accepted or processed.
Your accommodation will be available to you from 10am on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged. We may not be able to accommodate you if you arrive earlier than the agreed time as there may still be guests occupying the rooms.
There is NO key for the lodge-there is a pin code lock. The entry code will be given once full payment is received. Please note: the entry code will be changed on a regular basis.
Please ensure that your room or bed is vacated by 10am on the day of departure.
Late arrival procedure
Please try and arrive no later than 10pm so as to not be a disturbance to guests occupying the lodge.
Eating and drinking in bunk rooms or the dorm room is not allowed as they can leave after smells and can cause staining if the food comes into contact with bedding or carpets etc. Kindly use the dining room area.
On departure guests are required to clean the bunkroom which you occupied and contribute to cleaning of the communal living, cooking and bathroom areas. If you are the last to leave please ensure that all the fridges and freezes are emptied and cleaned.
Please remember to take your rubbish and re-cycling with you when you leave.
In accordance with the Law there is a no smoking policy in force. Please refrain from smoking inside the lodge as well as on the outside decks. If you do wish to smoke, you must please do so 4m away from the building.
There is a fire alarm system in operation and if this is set off by guests smoking anywhere in the lodge you will be asked to vacate the premises and forfeit any monies paid.
Damages and Breakages
Please take care when staying at the lodge. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. We ask that you do report any incidents when they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may charge you for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant.
Please ensure that the lodge is locked at all times when not occupied.
Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of NZ do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions..
Sorry, we do not allow pets inside the lodge or on the property under any circumstances.

As the prices of accommodation vary, please make sure that you occupy the accommodation which you have booked and paid for.
Booking Confirmation & Payment
A deposit of 50% of your booking must be made when making your booking with the balance to be paid 2 weeks before your stay. (Bookings made online have the balance charged to the credit card that was used to make the initial booking).
All bookings will be confirmed by email.
No school/youth group or whole lodge bookings are permitted in Peak Season (July-October)
No minors are allowed to stay in the lodge unless they are accompanied by a responsible adult.
Infants who do not require a bed can stay free of charge.
Cancellation of booking
By making your booking, our agreement is a legal contract and you agree to our terms and conditions.
Should your travel arrangements change you should inform us as soon as practicable to allow us to re allocate the room(s).
Notice of cancellation of booking: providing we have at least 3 weeks (21 days) notice of cancellation no payments will be due. However if you fail to notify us after this period payment in full will become due.
However, should you need to cancel the booking due to adverse weather conditions or exceptional circumstances we are happy to transfer your booking to another date if at all possible should this be acceptable.
