Tongariro Suites opened its doors in December 2014, offering contemporary premium boutique accommodation with a difference for the Ruapehu / Tongariro region. We are a smoke free and child free property. The property is set in New Zealand native landscaped gardens.
All our suites offer views of Mt Ruapehu and all have a private deck overlooking a pond in landscaped gardens with native plants.

The very spacious suites feature large tiled bathrooms and a free standing bath is included in 3 of the 4 suites (2 with mountain views from the bath) as well.
The guest lounge with books , games and log-fire (in winter) opens to a large central deck which features a cedar hot tub (with fabulous views of Mount Ruapehu), BBQ and ample seating to enjoy the views and magnificent sunsets.

Tongariro Suites are an eco-friendly property. Solar panels help us generate part of our electricity, our water supply is filtered and UV treated rain water. Our waste water is processed on site and used for irrigation of the gardens. We encourage all our guests to recycle their organic waste, paper, glass and cans in the bins provided in their suites.

Tongariro Suites is ideally located for all regional activities such as the Tongariro Crossing, Mountain Bike Trails (The Old Coach Road Mountain Bike Trail is a 1 min bike ride away and the Mountains-2-the Sea Cycle Route runs alongside our boundary), Kayaking on the Whanganui River, Turoa and Whakapapa Ski Fields (both an easy 35 min drive) and a host of other activities such as hiking , walking, Quad Bike Adventures and Paddle-Boarding. Packages can be arranged.

Ohakune Township is an easy 10 min drive away. Ohakune offers a wide range of restaurants, bike and ski-hire facilities, shuttle services and a supermarket.

Terms & Conditions

Please note that we are a smoke free and child free property.
All our suites have a king size bed and the maximum occupancy is TWO. If you arrive with children, babies or additional adults, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation upon your arrival and you will be liable for paying the first nights accommodation. If we discover you have accommodated a child or additional adult without our knowledge we reserve the right to debit your credit card with a $200.00 fee for breaching our occupancy policies. Please note that accommodating children and/or extra adults without prior approval could also breach our fire safety regulations.

Arrival and Departure Times
Check in between 3pm and 7pm. Reception will close at 7 pm so check in after this time might not be possible unless prior arrangements have been made. To arrange after hours check in please call or email us.

Subject to the accommodation status on the day of departure, late check-out may be available, please check when your arrive. Otherwise check out is 10 am.

Payment Policy

All rates are quoted in NZ dollars on a per night basis and include 15% GST.

The prices indicated are per room, for the number of people and the date(s) selected . If you arrive with additional adults or children under the age of 16, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation upon your arrival and charge you for the first night accommodation. Additional people might breach our fire and licensing regulations. If the accommodation was prepaid no refund will be made for the first night's accommodation in this instance.

PAYMENT
Payment by direct credit into our bank account is our preferred payment method. Please ensure your account is paid at least 24 hours prior to your arrival using the bank account details below:

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel 24 hours prior to your arrival or less you will be charged 100% of the first nights accommodation rate.
If no cancellation has been received and you do not arrive , you will be charged 100% cancellation fee for all nights booked.
The above policy applies only if you have booked directly with us. If you booked by Expedia or booking.com a different cancellation policy applies.
