Experience the charm & history of one of Victoria's oldest heritage working guesthouses. Built circa 1853/56 our bluestone 2 storied home awaits you.
At Victoria House our guests enjoy the friendly atmosphere of a fully restored Georgian home of historical significance. Many original features & fittings remain.
And we have retained a traditional vintage decor as much as possible combining with modern day features.
Our relaxing lounge has a piano, comfy armchairs, complimentary Port, Sherry, fruit cake all in front of the open winter fire, stroll in the garden, relax in the sunny atrium.
Breakfast options are available between 7--9am over looking our internal courtyard garden. Free WiFi is provided and all rooms have reverse cycle heating/cooling for your comfort. Victoria House is in a central location in the block between the sea and the main shopping precint, so you can park the car (free street front parking only) and walk to everything you need..... Our family room has a large queen-sized bed, the en-suite bathroom has a shower over the bath on the ground floor level. The room has an open mezzanine level with 2 single beds up a circular staircase and a skylight window. There is a ceiling fan as well as heat/cooling air con. Flat-screen Tv/dvd, electric blankets, free toiletries, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities and free WiFi

This room can accommodate up to 4 people, the mezzanine is accessible by stairs only. Roll-away beds are not available.
Children aged 10+ are welcome --booking must be with at least 1 adult. Children must not be left unattended in this room - re safety with the spiral staircase and overhead floor. Under 10 yrs please call the property to discuss first. 0437 272 293 Responsible youths 16-18 are ok alone in this room providing parents/adults are booked in another room...preferrebly room 10 (verandah room) We cannot accept booking for under 18yr olds on their own. 18+ is charged as an adult.

Terms & Conditions

Children under 8, including infants and toddlers, cannot be accommodated at the hotel. Unless by prior arrangement with the property, please call 0437 272 293. There is only room 10, garden room-- that I can put in a fold up bed, there is no capacity for extra beds in the other rooms.
Please make sure you put the number of children on your booking or call to let us know. We have had people arrive with children (not booked) and the room doesnt suit !!
Free WIFI is available thru out the property, free parking is available on the street front ONLY !!
BREAKFAST ...is available...7am--9am Full cooked to order $25/large continental $16 per person.

Please note that Victoria House is a non-smoking property. There are no guest cooking facilities in the rooms, we do have bbq in summer months for your use, we have sensitive smoke alarms indoors thru out the guest house, we have microwaves in room 7/10/11 and on the upstairs landing, however Portland does have a great range of restaurants, cafes & take away.
We do offer lunch packs at $25 per person...please speak to property.

Payment Policy

We accept the following credit cards for payment: Visa, /MasterCard credit cards.
We do not apply surcharges to credit card payments.
Full payment for your accommodation will be charged to the credit card used for confirmation on the day of arrival, unless prior arrangemnet with the property.
Non-accidental or negligent damage caused by a guest to the accommodation will be charged to the credit card of the registered guest, to the cost of the repair.

Cancellation Policy

While we still have on going issues with Covid, we understand, the guest can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before arrival date. The guest will be charged the total price only if they are a 'no show'.
Please note that the Christmas period is from December 18th thru to Jan 27th, all Public Holiday Weekends have a slight price rise and minimums of 2 or 3 night reservations.
No fees are charged for bookings if cancelled within 24 hours of first making the booking.
